There are big picture things happening in the background of the Internet that you probably never learned to pay attention to. We make assumptions and take a lot of things for granted, and some happenings have more significance than you realize. So this section of the tutorial offers up a smattering of things that deserve a few moments of your attention. (Because really, if there's a gorilla wandering around the back hallways of the Internet, don't you want to know about it?)
