USM Digital Collection - Shared Shelf Commons
Digital projects tell stories, make arguments, answer questions, or develop theories. Thinking through the scope, purpose and sources included in any project, and then documenting those decisions will help communicate the plan to team members, administrators, potential donors, funders and your audience. Following are questions to consider about the entire project lifecycle.
- Group Roles
- Assign roles for efficient and effective project outcomes.
- Role Examples:
- Manager—keeps group members on task; communicates with teacher; provides leadership.
- Editor/UX Designer—Edits narrative and usability of webpage; double checks citations; edits design and technology functions.
- Technology Manager—manages the group’s technology needs (e.g., WordPress,
Shared Shelf Commons, supplemental material widgets, and other technology); knows how to use the technology or is willing and able to learn new technology as needed for this project.
-
Content/Information Manager—organizes found stories, photos, and artifacts; keeper of all records; manages narrative.
-
Researchers—all group members participate in the research process, actively researching their topic throughout the time spent on the project.
