USM Center for Active Learning Project Results Dissemination Plan
The USM Active Learning Team will actively engage in writing the Sparks! white paper, participate in presentations and lead workshops, and write an article. The content for these scholarly endeavors will be our project findings connecting academic libraries, active learning, high impact educational practices and their impact on student learning outcomes. National and regional accrediting bodies, such as the Higher Learning Commission and government agencies, will also be interested in our results as these organizations are seeking tangible initiatives showing how postsecondary entities affect student learning, retention, and student engagement. Our project will contribute to this important conversation. Dissemination of our project will occur internally (USM community) and externally (local and national academic stakeholders). Internally, the USM Active Learning Team will share project results at faculty and staff meetings. Externally, the USM Active Learning Team will share project results through activities with peer to peer institutions at local and national conferences such as the Missouri and Kansas Library Conferences, The Brick & Click Academic Libraries Symposium, and the Association of College & Research Libraries Conference. We will share our results also in a format that can be easily replicated at other postsecondary institutions through the use of the online tool highlighting our assessment methods, survey instruments, reflection exercises, and presentation and publication materials.
