Trio Educational Opportunity Centers (Franklin & Leavenworth County)

The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is a federally funded TRIO program that offers free services to assist individuals in the following areas:

  • Vocational, and two- and four-year college/university information
  • Financial aid and scholarship processes
  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) assistance
  • Career preparatory skills: Career Readiness Certificates (Bronze, Silver, and Gold), WorkKeys, Essential Career Skills, HiSet Preparation
  • Learning Workshop topics (financial aid, financial literacy, career exploration, college preparation, ACT & SAT Preparation)
  • Referral to GED and ESL programs
  • GED assessments and online classes to help you prepare for the test (Franklin and Leavenworth Counties only)
  • Information to improve financial and economic literacy skills

Welcome Central-Leavenworth Interfaith Community of Hope

Provides services to those living in poverty which include instruction about daily living skills, information about social service providers, access to job seeking skills and transportation to helping agencies and other essential services.

A self-paced learning program that teaches languages through relevant and topical dialogue using the four key components--vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and culture--for improving proficiency in another language.

*Requires Kansas Library eCard if you want to track your progress, which is available for free at the Leavenworth Public Library's reference desk. You can still access the site as a guest.

Voice of America: Learning English

Learning English is VOA’s multimedia source of news and information for millions of English learners worldwide. Our audio programs and captioned videos are written using vocabulary at the intermediate and upper-beginner level. Our programs are read one-third slower than normal English speed. Online texts, MP3s and podcasts let people read, listen and learn American English and much more.
