University of Saint Mary 3D Printing Policies

  • The Keleher Learning Commons’ maker technology may only be used for lawful purposes. No one is permitted to create material that is:
    • Prohibited by local, state, or federal law.
    • Unsafe, harmful, dangerous, or poses an immediate threat to the well-being of others, including weapon accessories.
    • Obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the library environment.
    • In violation of another's intellectual property rights. For example, you cannot reproduce material subject to copyright, patent, or trademark protection.

  • Library staff will evaluate your model to ensure printability and notify you. Please note your file must not take longer than 6-7 hours to print.

  • The Keleher Learning Commons cannot guarantee item quality or stability, nor confidentiality of designs. Any finishing steps (e.g. removing rafts/supports, sanding, removing paper backing, etc.) is the responsibility of the user.

  • Items must be picked up by the individual who submitted them or their designee, using valid ID. Items not picked up within 30 days become the property of the Keleher Learning Commons.

  • Access to equipment is prioritized based on factors such as academic priority, class due dates, reprints, and other issues as they arise. We reserve the right to alter queue order based on these factors.

  • Keleher Learning Commons staff reserve the right to deny any print request for any reason.
